A 12 year old boy presents with a history of a scaling, itchy rash on both feet for 3 months.

Except for occasional bouts of allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, his medical history is unremarkable. He is a member of the school track team.

His family history is significant for psoriasis in his mother. He is not on any medications.

Culture of skin and nail samples


Cultures with the sabouraud dextrose agar medium show dermatophyte growth.
