More Discharge

A 33 year old lady complains of a slight vaginal discharge with a fishy odor, which is noticeable after sexual intercourse. There is no itching, dysuria, abdominal pain or fever.

She has had a new sexual partner for the last four months, who is asymptomatic.

Her medical and gynecological histories are unremarkable.

The cultures are positive.
Wet Mount Microscopy

Performed

The wet mount shows squamous epithelial cells with a granular appearance (clue cells) and a stippled cell border. Polymorphonuclear leukocytes are significantly reduced.
GC+CT NAAT

Performed

Negative for both gonococcus and chlamydia.
Trichomonas Cultures

Performed

The cultures are negative
